I'm going to guess that the same folks in the Tea Party screaming about the deficit will somehow find this breaking news to be irrelevant. Hi everyone,
I have just received my H1-B, and I'm planning on a two week vacation back to my country.
I'm not on a good relationship with my company at the moment, and even if they granted my vacation, I'm afraid they might cancel my H1-B visa while I'm on a vacation overseas.
If they do, would I be not able to come back into US, or would they at least give me a few days to pack up my stuff?
Any advice and comments would be appreciated.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) is trying again to get the DREAM Act passed, re-introducing the measure on Wednesday to let some immigrant students in the U.S. illegally stay in the country. Durbin, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), and Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and others will be on the bill.
Last December, after passing the House (then under Democratic control) the measure fell five votes short in the Senate and Durbin vowed to keep trying. I am wondering what happens if I buy some real estate property ( a condo unit) while I am on H1B, and if i moved out of country, (H1B - 6Yrs completed) do i need to sell the property (condo) before i leave country? Can i rent this unit while i am away from country? On a new H1B can i come and stay in that home? Anybody experienced this case before? Please give me details as much as possible. Thanks.

I got my I-140 Approved (EB3 - Jan 2004) with Company A. Can i use the approval notice and get my H1B extended for 3 years from a different company ? Please advice as this will help me a lot.

I know that the EAD card comes directly to the applicant and not to the attorney.
What about RFE on EAD? Does that too come directly to the applicant?

Below are my details:
Current work status : H1B
Applied for I-485 , July'07 filer, priority date: jun EB3 category
My husband details:
Current work status : H1B
Applied for I-485 , July'07 filer, priority date: Feb EB3 category
We both have separate EADs and H1B visas and are independent of each other currently.
Because my priority date is 2006 and my husband's is in 2005, there is more possibility that he may get GC before my PD becomes current.
When my husband's priority date becomes current, he wants to file it for me again so i would get GC along with him.
I am now considering to look out for jobs and use my EAD card with new employer.
Can I make my EAD active ? Will it cause any problems when my husband's priority date becomes current and when we file my application along with his ?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

I called company A and they said it would take this month end to get the papers. Is there anyway I can start working for company B from Oct 1st (unpaid or any other way) and then take papers(atleast a copy of approval notice) from company A and then apply for h1 transfer in the first week of october?
Please help.

I lost my original passport and was issued a new passort which is valid till 12 feb 2007. I mailed my application to the indian consulate but they stamped the extension of passport for 1 more year. The first page of the passport say it expires the on 12th feb but on the next page th consular general stamped the extension of the passport till 12th jan 2008. I am goin to india on 26th jan for H1b stamping. I wanted to know what are the chances of the visa getting rejected at the US embassy. Alsp is the passport valid for travel

My current AP expires on July 30, 2008. I am planning to apply for renewal in Jan or Feb 2008, which is 6 months prior to expiration. I understand that nowadays it takes more than 3 months for approval.
In case of emergency, Can I travel to India with my current AP while AP renewal petition is pending?.
